Program:
According to current snow conditions in the popular or even common we experience uncharted mountain skitour. On top of the peak or on cottage snacks, geographic orientating and short training on avalanche issues. Consultation on the latest trends of skitouring gear and a suitable choice for peace.

Objective:
The aim of touring tours proper use of equipment and possibly of choice before buying. We will learn quickly and efficiently to stick the skins, use touring bindings and skin-up properly. During the touring trip it is very important to read the terrain, conveniently choose the track and direction. Learn about navigation in unfamiliar terrain, so that in future we only enjoy and have a happy return home.

Day 2: Kriváň 2495m (6-7 hrs) + Aqua City Poprad
You will experience the most symbolic mountain in Slovakia. The trek is suitable for every hiker, not technically difficult. No rope needed, but the trek takes about 3,5 – 4 hours to reach the summit only. After the trek we will have a late lunch in local restaurant. After the lunch we will relax and enjoy the Aqua City Poprad, with the thermal pools, saunas, whirpool and massage.

Note: Alternative hiking route is also available. Overnight in Starý Smokovec.

Day 3: Chata pri Zelenom plese 1550m (5 hrs)
Easy trek to mountain hut – Chata pri Zelenom plese 1550m, next to the beautiful green glacier lake with the sceneric views on north face of Lomnický and Kežmarský štít, and limestone Belianske Tatry. After we get down from trek, we will go for lunch and then you will visit Belianska Cave that is located in the territory of the Tatra National Park. The cave is 1,752 m long, and some of its parts were known by gold-miners already in the 18th century. There are 8 species of bats living in the cave, now. Time of the tour in cave is approximately 1,5 hrs.

Afternoon: Departure from Slovakia (3,5 – 4 hrs drive to Bratislava). Visit of the city center and short walk by the Donau river with a coffe break.

Day 2: Kriváň 2495m (6-7 hrs)

Day 3: Rysy 2499m (6-7 hrs)
Trek to Rysy is a bit technical, with one little „ferrata“. The rest of the tour is mostly enjoyable with beautiful views on Mlynická valley and the glacier lakes all around the valley. On the way down we will stop for a lunch break on the highest mountain lodge in Tatras (Chata pod Rysmi, 2250m). After the trek we will have a dinner in Slovak restaurant based in Starý Smokovec.

Day 4: Chata pri Zelenom plese 1550m (5 hrs) + Belianska cave

Day 5: Malý Ľadový štít 2602m (7 hrs)
Malý Ľadový štít (altitude 2602 m), is in the top 10 highest peaks in Tatras. Not that crowdy with tourists like Rysy and Kriváň. On the way up and down we can stop for a lunch break in mountain hut – Téryho chata 2015m, very popular place as a „Base Camp“ for climbers, hikers and during winter for skialpinists. The trek is a bit technical, but the rope is not needed.

Note: Alternative hiking route is also available (more technical hikes with the rope – Vysoká 2547m or Lomnický štít 2634m). Overnight in Starý Smokovec.

Day 6: Slovak Paradise (5 hrs) + Aqua City Poprad
Beautiful trek in real paradise. Suchá Belá valley and Prielom Hornádu (canyon) gives a bit different point of view of Slovak nature beauty. From our base camp in Starý Smokovec we will drive just 30km around Poprad city to reach Slovak paradise (National Park Slovenský raj). Lunch will take place in restaurant on the way. After the lunch we will relax and enjoy the Aqua City Poprad, with the thermal pools, saunas, whirpool and massage.

Day 7: Departure from Slovakia (3,5 – 4 hrs drive to Bratislava).

The mountain huts are very well prepared for all ski alpinists to give them excellent service after long day up in the mountains. The tour selection is wide. Ideal alpine terrain for winter and spring skiing. Great mountain scenery. Great summit ascents and descents. Enjoyment of skiing in the smallest high mountain range in the world – HIGH TATRAS.
Our skitouring weekend goes in all 3 Tatras mountain regions – in the Low, West and High Tatras. Each ski tour offers a different terrain, views and experiences. The tours are peppered ... morewith atractive mountain climbing. They are not extremely heavy, but still require good physical condition and corresponding skiing technique.

TOUR SCHEDULE:

Thursday: Meeting point at Chopok South – Cottage (Chata) Trangoška (1100 m). Upon request pick up from Bratislava/Poprad airport. Meeting with your guide, check the nessesary equipment and program discussion. Dinner and relax.

Friday: Ďumbier (2043 m). The highest peak of Low Tatras. Easy level of difficulty to start our Tatra ski mission. To the summit it is about 4 hours climb including a lunch break on Štefánikova Hut (1728 m) on the way up. Skiing down the southern face of Ďumbier to Trangošská valley.

4 hours and 940 meters
Evening move by car to Žiarska valley in Western Tatras (1 hour drive) and skin-up (2 hours) to Žiarska hut (1325 m).

Saturday: Smuté saddle (1965 m) and peak Hrubá kopa (2166 m). Morning skin-up to Smutné saddle and peak Hrubá kopa takes about 2-3 hours. Skiing down to Žiarska hut with the lunch break and down to car.

4 hours and 800 meters
Afternoon move by car to Cottage on Popradské tarn (1495 m) in High Tatras (1 hour drive).

Sunday: Rysy (2499 m). The highest peak in Poland. Skin-up to the Frog lakes is very comfortable, then comes a steep slope that is passable only with crampons. We will arrive into the rocky valley of Rysy with the small Hut under Rysy (2250 m), the highest hut in Slovakia. From here we can already see saddle (sedlo Váhy). The summit is still hiding. After some snack at the Rysy hut we will soon reach the summit ridge. We have to take off skis, focus on each step and finally reach the summit. Skiing down the same way.

– early morning start

– cottage Popradské tarn – Eastern Iron Gate – Gerlachovské falls – Duck Valley – Litvorová Valley – Zbojnícka chata (hut)

Length: 9 km, 1500 m ascent, descent 900 m

Afternoon program on hut: avalanche rescue course & equipment use

Day 3: Sunday

Zbojnícka hut – Transverse saddle – Téryho chata (hut) – Lamb saddle – Hut at the Green tarn – White Water bus stop

Length 15 km, climb 800 m, descent 1900 m
