What you can expect
Depending on your flight details, you will be picked up from the airport by your guide/ driver and you will be dropped off to the booked accommodation as planned ahead. If there is time, you could meet with your safari consultant for a cup of coffee or dinner depending on you. You will then rest as you get ready for your next day’s safari, dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

With a pick up from one of our guides/ drivers by 6:30am, you will start the journey at exactly 7am as you will be driving straight to Kibale National Park. You will use the Northern route from Kampala through Mubende and finally to Fort Portal. You will be having lunch here and then head to the national park for your afternoon activity. You should be at Kanyanchu the starting point before 2pm because that is the time you will be starting the Walk.

The walk takes 2 to 3 hours and you will retire for the day. Hereafter you will head to the accommodation we would have booked for you and check in. You will relax as you wait for your dinner.

Today you will kick off the day with your early morning breakfast as you should be ready and at the starting point of tracking (Kanyanchu) by 7:30am. Here you will be debriefed on the do’s and don’t when you get into the park, this is where you will leave the guide/ drive and be led by the park guide. The track starts at exactly 8am and goes for up to 2 to 3 hours and an additional one hour you are allowed with the chimps. After the one is done, you will track back to the starting point. When you return from the track, you will head back to your accommodation and have your launch. After you have had your lunch, you will then head back to the starting point of the cultural walk and take a look at the beautiful art crafts that the locals make.

You could even support them by buying something. These walks are organized by Kibale Association for Rural Environmental Development (KAFRED) which is located in Magombe swamp. The walk will start at 2pm and go on for 2 to 3 hours depending on the activities you will take part in. You then retire for the day and head back to your accommodation for another overnight with dinner.

Early morning drive Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, This drive takes you through Uganda’s rolling green hills and through the highlands, also known as the “Switzerland of Uganda.” The road will then even head higher to where you can see the triangular peaks of the Virunga Volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo. We will then drop down into the valley to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the remaining mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Accommodation:

After breakfast, your guide will take you along to the ranger station to register before 8.00 am. You will be given a short talk by the rangers before setting off. The trackers will lead you through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track gorillas. This trek can take from half an hour to five hours so a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. You sit in the forest among the gorillas listening to them grumble at each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silverback.

It is amazing to think that there are only 650 or so of these creatures left in the world! If you have the afternoon free, take a guided village walk-Experience Ugandans life, visit a local bar and meet the local medicine man. Later return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Early morning breakfasts proceed your drive through the triangular Mountainous areas heading to the Volcanoes, You will have Dinner En-route and on arrival in Rwanda you will check in your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Up relatively in the Morning for breakfast to drive to the Ranger station to prepare for your Gorilla Track in the Volcanoes then return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

An amazing experience
Booked a 5 day trip with Hajarah and he was very helpful. Already from the airport pick-up I was warmly welcomed by Katie and Alex, they have done everything to make it as pleasant as possible for my trip. Nothing was too much and they even made proposals. The lodges of Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth were well cared for with excellent meals. Friendly and helpful staff. The visit to the gorillas / chimpanzee, ... more game drive and everything else was an amazing experience in this beautiful country. Will definitely recommend Simba African Expeditions to everyone. This because of the experience and the professionalism of this tour operator. I would therefore like to thank them for making such an experience.

One of the best safari tours I've done
Awesome! I was a solo traveller and the company provided me with a great driver who spoke excellent English....Mr. Xavier.... and was very knowledgeable about wild life, history, culture of Uganda. He is a great guy who was excellent in every possible way. Always on time, the 4 WD was clean and tidy, kept me entertained and informed about everything. Excellent and safe driver. Attended to all my needs ... more even without asking. The hotels were great...Sapphire, Kampala...a bit off the road but the food was excellent. Huge rooms with all amenities. Haven lodge in Bwindi...omg...awesome! Simba safari camp...fantastic and great staff! Igongo, Mbarara....the best ever....5 star...great room, food, shopping....truly amazing.Gorilla trekking was hard but I am proud to say I did it! Photographed a family of 12....14 km hike up steep slopes. Queen Elizabeth park was good but animal density was rather low. But Mr. Xavier showed me the salt making area, fishing village, crater drive and a very secret little twin lakes off the regular track. had an awesome experience with local kids...bought books and stationary for the whole village! I am very happy...Thank you Xavier. Jinja was great....the Begining of the nile...omg....my dream came true! Cruise on Kazinga channel was awesome....plenty of wildlife...elephants, Hippos etc. etc. Finally the company....Ms. Hajarah was not only efficient but was super quick and made the ideal trip plan for me. Thank you Hajarah....You are great. The smoothest trip ever....I have been to 53 countries, mind you! Traffic in Kampala was terrible but Xavier and I got a lot of time to chat about everything from politics, history, culture, family etc. etc. He made everything look so awesomely easy! Great travel companion. Excellent driver not only in the wilds but also in the city! Thank you all at Simba! You will always be on my mind.

Chimps and Gorillas
We had an excellent 5 day experience, first seeing the gorillas in Bwindi, and then having some fun game drives in Queen Elizabeth. My absolute favorite part was the chimp trekking in the gorge. Our driver was professional and friendly, our accommodations were comfortable, and the food was fantastic! Thank you for a great time!

A perfect Trip
Simba was complete perfection from the moment I booked our vacation until the moment we departed. I knew I wanted to select Simba from the many options of tour companies because of Linda. From the moment I began communicating with her, she made me feel completely at ease. She responded to me quickly, answered all of my questions, and gave me honest advice. Everything that I asked of her she did. She ... more stayed in constant communication with me, and her performance made me totally trust this company. She actually accompanied our driver/guide to greet us at the airport. Best of all, she greeted me with a hug, rather than a handshake as if we were old friends...and I felt like we were! She introduced us to our driver and guide whose name was Xavier. I would recommend him to anyone of any age from any country. He was amazing! He was kind, funny, knowledgeable, and he can spot an animal from a mile away...which is absolutely what you want while on safari. He wanted my husband and I to be happy at every second of our trip...and we were! What I also loved about him was his passion. He enjoyed seeing the animals and other sights as much as we did! He was right along side me taking photos of the amazing things that we encountered. I cannot say enough good things about Linda and Xavier. As for the trip itself, it was life changing! It not only met but fully exceeded our expectations. Everything went so smoothly. This is a company that you do not have to worry about. They will take care of everything for you. So book with Simba, and then sit back, relax, and look forward to an amazing experience!Reviewed in Safari Booking

Amazing Trip in Magnificent Country
From the first e-mail till our arriving in Entebbe, the contact with Simba was great. They responded very quickly on all our questions we had by e-mail.When we arrived in Entebbe airport everything went smoothly and an hour later we were already in the Boma hotel. Our driver and guide for our trip was Alex, really a very good driver and an excellent guide. He's speciality are birds, but he also gave ... more us lots of info about all the other animals we saw. We really want to thank Alex for the wonderful experience we had in Uganda.During our trip we were lucky to see the most of the wildlife in Uganda and Alex did everything to make this possible. So we had a wonderful time in Uganda and treasure all to beautiful memories. All the lodges that were planned in our trip were great and we also enjoyed very much the food.Only the lodges that were planned in our trip The Primates Lodge in Kibale and the Semulike Safari Lodge, that were changed without our knowledge in the Lodge Chimps Nest was a disaster, the water in our room was polluted (dark brown and muddy) and when we informed Simba about this problem, they did not do anything to improve our situation. Staying 3 nights in a lodge that is not suitable to receive guests and nobody was taking any action(except our driver, who called many times the head office), give you a very bad feeling.Even now we don't understand why they changed the lodges, not only one but two. Also on the program they put that non-alcoholic drinks are included in souper and dinner, but this is not true. You have to pay for all your drinks at lunch and dinner. But overall we had a great time, we really enjoyed Uganda and we recommend Simba to all our friends who want to visit Uganda.Reviewed in Safari Booking
