Seti River and the Seti River is a really unique, pleasant and picturesque River passing through two beautiful and contrasting scenic areas of Nepal. Seti River is relatively small ... morevolume, blue and warm water that makes Seti a perfect rafting for beginners, intermediate and family members. Seti River rises on the southeast slopes of the sacred Mountain Fishtail and then flows to south, as a fairly typical Nepalese mountain River, we can do one or two days rafting in this river.
Day 01. Drive to Damouli and Rafting: We drive form Pokhara in the early morning to Damauli, our Rafting starting point. After the rafts are rigged, we will set off down the Seti Khola. ... moreWe spend the whole day within its forested canyon. The luxuriant vegetation we see is a remnant of the vast forested area, which once covered the middle hills of Nepal. Even now we are objects of curiosity to the villagers. Traveling by rafts is a perfect way to view undisturbed wildlife. When we stop for lunch we have time to explore, Photograph, bird watching, swim or relax. Later in the afternoon we encounter a small but technical rapid near the village of Saranghat. Inhabited by Magars, who are renowned for generations of service with the Gurkha forces, Saranghat is a colorful middle hills village, overnight at tented camp, ( A, L, D).

Day 02. Rafting and drive to Kathmandu, pokhara or Chitwan: After having breakfast at the camp and repacked the raft, we will set off down the Seti River. Later we encounter the technical rapid grade 3 shortly after the rapid we leave Seti Khola and enter Trisuli River. Here the middle hills recede and the Terai plain opens before us. The Topography has changed dramatically. The twisted severe rock formations give away to sandstone and gavel deposited by antecedent Rivers. After lunch, we have opportunity to visit a unique religious community, Devhgat, Thousands of pilgrims visit the ashram to worship every year. At this point Kali Gandaki joins the Trisuli River and our adventure ends here, ( B, L)

Options: After rafting ends in Devghat, you have options of return to Pokahra, drive to Pokahra or drive to Chitwan National park , the Chitwan National park is very near form Here so, most of the travelers visit Chitwan National park for the Jungle safari and wild like activities, so, do let me know if you also want to visit Chitwan after the Kaligandaki rafting .

The place ... moreis sacred pilgrimage sites for Shamans for both Hindus and Buddhists devotees and the site has been untouched yet. Mustang, which means fertile plain (land), is the former Kingdom of Lo and now a part of Nepal, located in the north-central part of the country, bordering with Tibet on the Central ... moreAsian plateau between the Nepalese provinces of Dolpo and Manang, The Kingdom of Lo, the traditional Mustang region, and "Upper Mustang" are one and the same, comprising the northern two-thirds of the present-day Nepalese Mustang District, and are well marked by official "Mustang" border signs just north of Kagbeni where a police post checks permits for non-Nepalese seeking to enter the region, and at Gyu La (pass) east of Kagbeni.
Trekking in Upper Mustang Region is very popular in Nepal and it is one of the most mysterious trekking regions in Nepal. The landscape of this region is a barren moonscape of eroded ... moresandstone pillars and discontinuous moraine terraces, which together present a colorful mosaic made up principally of earthen reds, yellows and brown. The trekking in the Mustang is relatively easy trekking along the permitted route to Lo Manthang, lies in the heart of Mustang. The trek to Mustang is through an almost treeless barren landscape, strong winds generally howl across the area in the afternoon and low at night. Mustang is considered to be the rain shadow areas of the Himalayas, the result, there is much less rain in comparison to whole country of Nepal.

Mustang is one of the few places in the world that has long-lived a very close-niche life. The interesting is that the region was inaccessible to outsiders until some years back. This isolation Mustang owns a unique lifestyle and cultural heritage of people living in the area, which has remained almost unchanged for centuries. The majestic Himalayan ranges of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna are hidden behind this area; Mustang is filled with beautiful trekking zones. With this all the features, special trekking permit is required for all the trekkers from the government registered trekking company in Nepal and Escape Nepal Holidays has long been organizing the trekking in the area, therefore, you do not need to worry, if you want to go and explore this unique area of the world.

Trekking in Mustang is organized during all year and it is possible to trek in the area in the rainy season as well. This isolated kingdom of Mustang prospered in the 15th century, when its strategic location enabled to salt trade between Tibet and Nepal. The landscape of Mustang is dry, naturally carved sandstone pillars and discontinuous moraine terraces, these all present naturally a colorful variety made up of red, yellow and brown together. It is comparably considered to be one of the easy treks in Nepal. The trekking to Mustang is through an almost treeless landscape and infertile landscape. You experience the strong wind blowing across the area as it is a rain shadow area of Nepal. Normally, trekking in to upper Mustang is privileged to have an experience the life and lifestyle of people, who have been residing calmly, even in such harsh environment. The trekking in Upper Mustang is quite similar to trekking in Tibet; as geographically it is a part of Tibet. Interesting is that, this was a part of Tibetan Kingdom of Gungthang until 1830's.

The medieval wall city of Lo Monthang, unofficial capital of Mustang still remains a kingdom. It is rich in culture and religious heritage. The history of Lo Monthang is based on myth and legend rather than the recorded in detail. Mustang maintained its status as a separate principality until 1951. The trekking in Mustang begins with a day tour in Kathmandu and a day drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara then flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, above upper Kali Gandaki River between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
